WHAT IS BOOST?

Boost is a storefront business pitch in which the winner will receive a year’s rent for a storefront in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

Age Requirement

● All participants must be at least 18 years of age. 

Product or Service Development

● Participants must have a product or service either live or in beta form. This requirement ensures that participants have progressed beyond the conceptual stage and have a tangible offering. 

Ethical and Legal Compliance

● Participants must adhere to ethical business practices and comply with all relevant laws and regulations. 

Participation in Boost Workshops

● Participants are required to complete all 4 Boost Fort Atkinson Workshops, which are designed to support you in creating the content and collateral needed to succeed in the competition. (The workshops are once a week, 4 weeks in a row, and are run by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Enactus program.)

WHEN AND WHERE DOES THE COMPETITION TAKE PLACE?

Timeline

  • February 6th - Workshop - Ideation

  • February 13th - Workshop - Marketing

  • February 20th - Workshop - Finance

  • February 27th - Workshop - Pitch Deck and Video creation

  • March 10th - Entry Deadline

  • March 15th - Community vote

  • April 7th - Winner is announced

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?

  • The winner of the Boost Fort Atkinson Storefront Pitch Competition will receive one year of rent in a downtown Fort Atkinson storefront and membership to the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce. (Consideration will also be given to creative use of funds to launch the Fort Atkinson storefront.)

DO I COMPETE BY MYSELF OR AS A TEAM?

We welcome applications from any business, no matter how big or small!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ENTER?

A non-refundable entry fee of $50 is required for each submission. 

WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?

Boost will give you the opportunity or start/expand your business and contribute to the vibrant Fort Atkinson scene!

  • All submissions will be displayed online and in key community spaces. The community will vote for their favorite designs!
